{Chelsea & Scott} A Celtic wedding at Tudor Hall

{Chelsea & Scott} A Celtic wedding at Tudor Hall

I first met Chelsea and her amazing family at her brother's wedding back in the fall of 2009. Ivy didn't have the chance to join me as she was in Vancouver preparing to work at the Olympics the following year. I can tell you however that she was jealous of not being able to photograph all of the amazing details! When Chelsea messaged me on facebook to let us know that Scott had proposed, and she wanted us to photograph their wedding, we were both excited! Turns out Scott's family is just as nice and caring! From the details that Chelsea chose, the Champagne Highland Dancers acting as ushers, and then having three performances during the reception, and the absolute abundance of emotion throughout the day. The most memorable moment to me was Chelsea's reaction as Scott stepped out to reveal he was wearing a kilt. Chelsea's Scottish roots are important to herself and her family. Scott's effort into bringing in a kilt bearing her family's Tartan was a sign of just how much he loves Chelsea! Continue Reading..
{Stephanie & Jason} A destination wedding in Ottawa!

{Stephanie & Jason} A destination wedding in Ottawa!

Last weekend it was a pleasure to photograph Stephanie & Jason's wedding. When most of us hear destination wedding, we think of the sunny south. Stephanie & Jason actually live in Barbados, and since her parents and family members live in Ottawa, they decided to hold their wedding here! After a very long distance phone call, I got to know the couple, and immediately knew their wedding was going to be one of the most relaxed weddings I've ever photographed, which made the 5am wake up call for their 9 am ceremony completely worth while! Enjoy the photos! Continue Reading..
{Roberta & Jeff} A rainy engagement session

{Roberta & Jeff} A rainy engagement session

We scheduled a nice, relaxing engagement session with Roberta & Jeff in preparation of their wedding next May. There was rain in the forecast, but only 30% chance of showers starting at 10pm, no need to reschedule. Well, turns out the weather forecast wasn't 100% accurate and we got caught in a downpour! Roberta & Jeff were amazing however and we made the best of it! If it rains during the engagement session, does that mean it won't rain on their wedding day? Continue Reading..

{Kathryn & Dave} A destination wedding at the Gran Bahia Resort, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

I first met Kathryn at a workshop held at the studio back in February. During the workshop I found out that she was getting married this past June in the Dominican Republic, and was considering bringing a photographer with them. Well, luckily she picked Ivanette and I to be her photographers! We had a blast, and the resort was gorgeous! We photographed their wedding and then got together the next day for a day after session. {Alanna & Martin} SURPRISE! It’s your wedding day!

{Alanna & Martin} SURPRISE! It’s your wedding day!

Back in November I received an e-mail from a guy by the name of Martin. He's planning a wedding for June 2012, it's going to be a backyard wedding, oh, and the bride doesn't know! Turns out Alanna is one busy gal, and didn't have much time to plan their wedding, so Martin decided to tell her that they'd have a small affair in September. Continue Reading..

{Christina & Richard} Toronto Distillery District Wedding

Last weekend Ivanette & I had a blast in Toronto photographing Christina & Richard's wedding. We've been excited for months to finally have the opportunity to create gorgeous wedding images in the distillery district of downtown Toronto. If you haven't heard about the area, it's worth looking up, and most definitely worth a visit! Richard is the brother in law of Kevin, who photographed our wedding back in 2009, so it was an honour to help Kevin and his family by covering Christina & Richard's wedding. Continue Reading..

{Chelsea & Scott} An engagement in Calabogie

I first met Chelsea when I photographed her brother Matt's wedding in the fall of 2009. Their family was amazing, and both of them are so outgoing, I know I'm going to have a blast at Chelsea & Scott's wedding this coming summer! Chelsea and Scott chose his family's hunt camp up near Calabogie for their session since that's where he proposed. We had a great day with lots of sun back in October! Continue Reading..
{Rachel & Chris} An Almonte engagement

{Rachel & Chris} An Almonte engagement

Some of you may recognize Rachel, however the last time you would have seen her she was on the other side of the lens. Rachel has been working with me since August as my assistant and second photographer, so when Chris proposed, I was thrilled when she asked if Ivanette and I would photograph their wedding. Rachel and Chris are very generous, hard working individuals, and who enjoy the simple things in life. I photographed their engagement session on a cool weekday in October, and have finally been able to edit it! Stay tuned, there are a few more engagement sessions to come! Continue Reading..
{Karen & Agostino} A winter wedding at St Patrick’s Basilica & Sala San Marco

{Karen & Agostino} A winter wedding at St Patrick’s Basilica & Sala San Marco

Ivanette first met Karen at her first job upon arriving in Ontario from Cape Breton. Over the years they had lost contact, until they saw each other when we photographed Carol-Lynn and Kyle's wedding back in 2009. We were happy to see them at the Ottawa Wedding show (a couple times!), and were thrilled when they decided to hire us as their wedding photographers! We had great weather, and it was pretty warm for mid November. Continue Reading..

{Christine & Evan} A sexy sunset engagement session

Ivanette and I have known Christine and Evan for a couple years now. Evan used to work with my younger brother, and over the years we've gotten to know Christine and Evan. We were excited for them when Evan finally proposed, and even more excited to be photographing their wedding next year in Carleton Place. We spent a Sunday afternoon at Evan's cottage capturing their engagement session surrounded by the fall leaves. Evan was thrilled when I suggested we incorporate his prized Mustang into their session!   Continue Reading..
{Melissa & Keith} An Ottawa Valley wedding in Renfrew

{Melissa & Keith} An Ottawa Valley wedding in Renfrew

I had the pleasure of photographing Melissa & Keith's wedding this October in Renfrew. It was a little cold (6 degrees) and very windy, but nobody complained, we had sunshine! There's something about small town churches that's just amazing, the light, the intimacy, it's like they have a personality of their own. St. Michael's Catholic church in Douglas is no exception, being just around the corner from Melissa's family farm. Their wedding was such a pleasure to photograph as both families are very relaxed, kind and generous. Continue Reading..

{Kelly & Kevin} A country wedding at the Mill of Kintail and Almonte Agricultural Hall

It truly was an honor to photograph Kelly and Kevin's wedding this September. Some may recognize Kelly from their experiences at Sinders Bridal in Carleton Place, which is where Kelly first heard of us, and throughout the years, decided that we were going to be her wedding photographer. Kelly and Kevin had a lovely intimate ceremony at the Mill of Kintail, followed by a simple yet fun reception at the Almonte Agricultural Hall. Continue Reading..

{Stephanie & Frederic} A military wedding in downtown Ottawa

{Stephanie & Frederic} A military wedding in downtown Ottawa

When Ivanette and I met with Stephanie, Freddie and their 3 wonderful children, we had the opportunity to spend some time with them and get to know the story of their 10 years together! After meeting at the Ottawa University frosh week, it was love at first sight. 10 years later, Stephanie and Freddie planned their wedding for the anniversary of their first chance meeting, and wanted to incorporate the University of Ottawa into their wedding. We had previously photographed their engagement session at the University. Since frosh week was on going, the chapel at Tabaret Hall was unavailable, so the University offed a great room overlooking the city at the top of the Desmarais building. The view was great, and the building's name is also their family name. Frederic is an active member of our Canadian Military, and decided to wear his military dress, along with have his grooms men in full dress. Continue Reading..

{Rachel & Eric} An intimate “elopement”

Photos by Brian Blog post by Ivanette I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Rachel when I started working at a new job in January, and getting to know her has been one of the highlights of my time there so far. Over time, we got to talking about our lives outside the office, and she learned that Brian is a photographer, and I learned that she was set to marry the love of her life, Eric, this fall. The rest, they say, is history! When you see Rachel and Eric together, it's truly captivating...they laugh together constantly, and when they look at one another, are almost consumed by the other. The energy they have together is wonderous and infectious, and you really can't help but be happy in their presence. Continue Reading..
