{Su & Leo} Intimate wedding at Code’s Mill in Perth

Ivanette and I had met Su and Leo well over a year ago at a bridal show. We loved how easy going and down to earth they are! Their wedding was held at Code's Mill in Perth, Ontario, and it was the perfect venue for their simple, yet elegant wedding. Continue Reading..
{Miss R} Bridal Boudoir

{Miss R} Bridal Boudoir

We've had to keep these photos under wraps for a few months now, and are excited to be able to finally share them! Miss R came to our studio a few months ago for a bridal boudoir session. Since her session was a surprise for her (now) husband, we couldn't share them online. Miss R had a great time during her session, and I hope her husband enjoys her images as much as she does! {Karen & Agostino} The Engagement

{Karen & Agostino} The Engagement

Ivanette worked with Karen a few years ago at her first job after moving to Ottawa for University. Over the years they had lost contact, but once Karen saw Ivanette at our booth in the Ottawa Wedding show, it was quite the reunion! Karen and Agostino are an amazing couple, full of energy and laughter! We're looking forward to photographing their wedding this November! Continue Reading..

{Kristen & Jason} Get Married at the Mayfair Theater, reception at the Glebe Community Center

Ivanette and I had the pleasure of meeting with Kristen & Jason last September and chatted about their very unique wedding. If you're a regular follower of the blog, you'll know that we like to keep things interesting by photographing unique, yet personalized weddings. It's not always about who can get the most lavish venue, the most expensive shoes, or a couture gown. The best weddings are full of emotion, fun, and personal touches. Kristen and Jason decided early on to go for a Carnival theme for their wedding. The ceremony was held at the historic Mayfair Theater in the Glebe, with a reception at the Glebe Community Center. For their formal photos we decided that one of Ottawa's legal graffiti walls would fit perfectly. Continue Reading..
{Fanny & Steve} A personalized wedding at Lago (Ottawa)

{Fanny & Steve} A personalized wedding at Lago (Ottawa)

It's been almost a year since we met Fanny and Steve at our studio, and chatted about their wedding. It seemed like forever until their wedding date arrived this past Saturday. Even though the weather network was threatening thunderstorms right after their ceremony, it turned out to be a great day! We had a blast photographing their wedding at Lago Bar Grill View. {Rachel & Eric} Engagement session at Ottawa’s Arboretum

{Rachel & Eric} Engagement session at Ottawa’s Arboretum

Ivanette had the pleasure of meeting with Rachel when she started her new job last fall. It was a few months later when Rachel and Eric came in to discuss their wedding plans that I got to meet both of them. Rachel and Eric's relationship first started when they would meet each other for lunch under a large willow tree at their University. The Arboretum with it's large willows seemed like the perfect fit for their engagement photos. You can't help but have a good time with these two! We just love it when people are so madly in love! We are looking forward to covering their small, intimate wedding later this year. Continue Reading..
{Erin & Chris} A wedding at St. Peter’s in Pakenham

{Erin & Chris} A wedding at St. Peter’s in Pakenham

You can't help but notice Erin's outgoing, bubbly personality! Erin and Chris were a pleasure to work with. We had previously had a blast photographing their engagement session, and had been looking forward to their wedding this past Saturday. Erin and Chris chose St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Pakenham, which is one of the 7 wonders of Lanark County. In the morning, we learnt that Erin's Grandfather had a hand in helping build the 5 span bridge in Pakenham (yet another of the 7 wonders of Lanark County), so a quick stop for some photos, then it was off to Burnstown for some photos on the farm. We had a blast at the reception with the smoked beef and chicken. A big thanks to Erin, Chris and both their parents for their wonderful hospitality! Continue Reading..
{Baby Ella} is almost 1

{Baby Ella} is almost 1

Last Friday we had the pleasure of a visit from Jamie and Matt, and their daughter Ella. Ella will turn 1 this September, and Jamie wanted some family photos with all 3 smiling. We actually photographed Jamie and Matt's wedding back in 2009, which you may remember had a "little" bit of a firefighter theme. Of course we had to continue on the tradition! Continue Reading..
{Kelly & Derek} Downtown Ottawa wedding, Blessed Sacrament & the National Arts Center

{Kelly & Derek} Downtown Ottawa wedding, Blessed Sacrament & the National Arts Center

You may remember Kelly & Derek from their engagement session a few months ago at Hogs Back Falls. We had a great time photographing their engagement session, as they are so relaxed, genuine and just plain ol' nice! After photographing their wedding at Blessed Sacrament church in the Glebe, and their reception at the NAC it was apparent that their families were just as witty, relaxed, and nice as they are! {Jennifer & Matt} A fiery engagement session

{Jennifer & Matt} A fiery engagement session

When Jennifer & Matt came out to the studio to chat about their wedding photography, we spent some time getting to know them. When chatting about how they got to know each other, this older, floral pattern sofa came up. In part due to our creativity, and in part due to their excitement to do something different, we decided that doing some super hot, and fun photos involving a little Alcohol, a lighter, and the sofa would make for some amazing engagement photos. Luckily, we finished their engagement session just before the severe thunderstorm came through last Sunday!

Do not try this at home!

{Jennifer & Matt} A country engagement near Pakenham

{Jennifer & Matt} A country engagement near Pakenham

If you follow me on Twitter, you'll know that this past Sunday Ivanette and I had two engagement sessions. Both couples are Jennifer & Matt, and both have their wedding in October of this year. I'm not sure what the odds of that are! For our first session of the day, we had the pleasure of capturing Jennifer & Matt at the farm she manages. Jennifer is a 7th generation farmer. Even with the heat, we had a nice relaxing afternoon in the fields. We finished their session off by cooling off in the water beneath the historic Pakenham 5 span bridge. Continue Reading..
{Carolyn & Justin} Engagement session on the water near Kingston Ontario

{Carolyn & Justin} Engagement session on the water near Kingston Ontario

This past Sunday Ivanette and I had one of the most relaxing engagement sessions. A few months ago, we had the pleasure of meeting with Carolyn and her parents at the studio to discuss their photography needs. We learnt the story about how Carolyn first met Justin. Justin works at a Marina that services a small lake just north of Kingston, where Carolyn's family would spend the summer at their cottage. Over the years, Carolyn would routinely take the boat down to the marina to fill it up with gas. With a little encouragement from their families, and a few years later, Carolyn and Justin started dating, the rest is just history. We thought that the most fitting place for their engagement photos would be the marina where everything started. Continue Reading..
{Kelly & Kevin} An engagement session in the market

{Kelly & Kevin} An engagement session in the market

It's been a busy week! Ivanette and I photographed Kelly & Kevin's wedding engagement session downtown in and around the market and National Art Gallery a week ago. We met with them on a nice sunny Sunday afternoon, and were pleasantly surprised to see they brought their dog Luigi! Both Kelly and Kevin are very relaxed and we had a great time! Continue Reading..
{Jennifer & Jason} A unique wedding

{Jennifer & Jason} A unique wedding

Ivanette and I had met Jason a few years back at a local meetup, organized through the photo sharing website flickr. Jason, and his then girlfriend Jen were just super cool people and we passed war stories and tips back and forth over a few beers. They both had great ideas and really like to relax! When I heard through twitter that Jason had popped the question to Jennifer, I was anxious to find out who they would choose as their wedding photographer. Jason being a semi-pro photographer, and having photographed weddings himself, I knew he would be picky! Well, luckily one day last year, I received an e-mail from Jason asking if I still had June 25th open. Continue Reading..
{Jennifer & Jeremy} A unique family wedding near Gatineau Park

{Jennifer & Jeremy} A unique family wedding near Gatineau Park

Jennifer & Jeremy had one of the most unique weddings we have ever photographed. When we met with them a little over 3 weeks ago, all they wanted was candid photos, nothing posed, no family shots, just pure candid photography. At first we were a little surprised, but then we found out the unique details, such as having their long time family friend perform the ceremony. The biggest surprise was that they were going to hold their 80 guest wedding at their house, complete with contra dancing, a form of square dancing, for their reception. This wedding was about the celebration of family, and having a good time, without having to worry about all of the little details! Continue Reading..
{Nick & Jingjing} Engagement session in Pembroke

{Nick & Jingjing} Engagement session in Pembroke

I've been looking forward to Nick & Jingjing's engagement session since they mentioned bringing their fencing equipment! Jinjing suggested the marina in Pembroke, which had the old abandoned rail bridge nearby. The group of teenagers fishing off of the bridge was a little surprised when we came up with fencing gear, but they didn't seem to mind! Continue Reading..

{Henna Maternity} A glowing Mother to be

This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Sajida's maternity session in Kingston. They had the lovely henna artist, Shafeena, produce stunning artwork on her. It was easy to tell that Sajida and her husband Zumil are very proud parents and excited about the arrival of their first child! Continue Reading..
{Alaina & Jim} Engagement photos at Willowstone

{Alaina & Jim} Engagement photos at Willowstone

When Alaina and Jim first met with us, they were considering Willowstone for their wedding, however after reviewing the size of their guest list, their wedding will now be at Strathmere. Alaina really loved how gorgeous Willowstone is, so we suggested it for their engagement photos. Victoria was absolutely gracious and very welcoming! I can only imagine how amazing a nice, small, intimate wedding would be at Willowstone! Continue Reading..

{Kelly & Derek} A wedding engagement session at Ottawa’s Hogs Back Falls

Kelly and Derek had met and booked us almost a year ago, so it was really nice to get to see them again and spend a nice Sunday afternoon strolling around Hogs Back falls for a couple hours. They are such a genuinely romantic couple, and we are looking forward to their wedding this July! Continue Reading..

{Janis & John} Film Photography at Strathmere

As you may have read in our previous post, I used John's vintage film camera and lens to capture part of their wedding. There is just something different about capturing images on Black & White film. I used Ilford Delta iso 100 and iso 400 film for these images: Continue Reading..
