{Melissa & Garth} An “end of the world” wedding at Montebello!
/in Almonte, Blog, carleton place, Clients, Fairmont Chateau Montebello, Montreal Wedding Photographers, Ottawa wedding photographer, Wedding /by bhargreavesAs I'm sure you all know, Dec 21st 2012 was supposed to be the end of the world as some people interpreted the Mayan Calendar. Well, it was quite a fitting day to celebrate Melissa & Garth's love for each other. Twenty three years ago, the two were high school sweethearts, so on the end of the world, or as it was more commonly referred to at their wedding, the beginning of a new age, Melissa & Garth were married in a wonderful ceremony at Chateau Montebello. Melissa filled the wedding full of unique touches, such as a circular aisle, so that they could walk past each and every guest, the custom hand made glass ornaments that formed a centrepiece, and then became favours for the guests. There was no seating plan, because as Melissa and Garth stated, "We are all family, so there's no seating plan". Guests were able to sit where they wished, mingle with who they wanted, and meet new friends at their leisure. The atmosphere was relaxed, well, until the dancing started!

{Rachel & Chris} A rainy day wedding
/in Almonte, Blog, carleton place, Event Photography, Ottawa wedding photographer, Stonefields Heritage Farm, Wedding /by bhargreavesSome of our past clients might recognize Rachel, as she was my assistant last year while Ivanette was home with baby Tavis! Shortly after she started working with us, Chris proposed, so it was an honour when she asked us to photograph her wedding. The week leading up to the wedding, Rachel had her eye on the forecast, and I was hoping it would change. Well, the forecast did change, only the accumulation kept getting higher and higher. Well, it was a torrential downpour for most of the day! We completed their first look inside one of the barns at Stonefields, Ivanette was drenched from head to toe getting the barn set up and ready for the first look, and I can't thank her enough for all she did! Rachel made the last minute decision to have her wedding outside in the drizzle, and with the help of Allan the ceremony was picture perfect! I also wanted to thank Steve and Stephanie of Stonefields who stepped in and made Rachel & Chris' wedding amazing after their original venue double booked their date.

{Tavis’ 1st Birthday} A Cookie Monster Birthday Party
/in Almonte, Blog, Maternity & Family, ottawa, Personal /by bhargreavesWow, a year sure goes by quickly! A year ago I was photographing back to back weddings, our busiest season, when Mr. Tavis decided he would enter this world. The year has gone by so quickly! Watching him progress from fitting in my forearm to the walking, smiling, laughing little boy he is today. He's my little work buddy, and keeps the day interesting! We were glad to have all the great family and friends join us to celebrate his first birthday! After a hard day's work, seeing Ivanette's face light up as he toddles over to the door squeeling and smiling because mommy's home is the best part of the day!
Also, a big thanks to my brother Mark for picking up the camera for part of the day!

{Alanna & Martin} SURPRISE! It’s your wedding day!
/in Almonte, Blog, carleton place, Clients, Ontario, Ottawa wedding photographer, Wedding /by bhargreavesBack in November I received an e-mail from a guy by the name of Martin. He's planning a wedding for June 2012, it's going to be a backyard wedding, oh, and the bride doesn't know! Turns out Alanna is one busy gal, and didn't have much time to plan their wedding, so Martin decided to tell her that they'd have a small affair in September.

{Rachel & Chris} An Almonte engagement
/in Almonte, Blog, Engagement, Mill of Kintail, Ottawa wedding photographer, Wedding /by bhargreavesSome of you may recognize Rachel, however the last time you would have seen her she was on the other side of the lens. Rachel has been working with me since August as my assistant and second photographer, so when Chris proposed, I was thrilled when she asked if Ivanette and I would photograph their wedding. Rachel and Chris are very generous, hard working individuals, and who enjoy the simple things in life. I photographed their engagement session on a cool weekday in October, and have finally been able to edit it! Stay tuned, there are a few more engagement sessions to come!

/in Almonte, Almonte Agricultural hall, Arnprior, Blog, carleton place, Clients, Mill of Kintail, ottawa, Wedding /by bhargreavesIt truly was an honor to photograph Kelly and Kevin's wedding this September. Some may recognize Kelly from their experiences at Sinders Bridal in Carleton Place, which is where Kelly first heard of us, and throughout the years, decided that we were going to be her wedding photographer. Kelly and Kevin had a lovely intimate ceremony at the Mill of Kintail, followed by a simple yet fun reception at the Almonte Agricultural Hall.

{Miss R} Bridal Boudoir
/in Almonte, Arnprior, Blog, Boudoir, ottawa /by bhargreavesWe've had to keep these photos under wraps for a few months now, and are excited to be able to finally share them! Miss R came to our studio a few months ago for a bridal boudoir session. Since her session was a surprise for her (now) husband, we couldn't share them online. Miss R had a great time during her session, and I hope her husband enjoys her images as much as she does!
