{Melissa & Garth} An “end of the world” wedding at Montebello!

As I'm sure you all know, Dec 21st 2012 was supposed to be the end of the world as some people interpreted the Mayan Calendar. Well, it was quite a fitting day to celebrate Melissa & Garth's love for each other. Twenty three years ago, the two were high school sweethearts, so on the end of the world, or as it was more commonly referred to at their wedding, the beginning of a new age, Melissa & Garth were married in a wonderful ceremony at Chateau Montebello. Melissa filled the wedding full of unique touches, such as a circular aisle, so that they could walk past each and every guest, the custom hand made glass ornaments that formed a centrepiece, and then became favours for the guests. There was no seating plan, because as Melissa and Garth stated, "We are all family, so there's no seating plan". Guests were able to sit where they wished, mingle with who they wanted, and meet new friends at their leisure. The atmosphere was relaxed, well, until the dancing started! Read more

{Karen & Agostino} A winter wedding at St Patrick’s Basilica & Sala San Marco

Ivanette first met Karen at her first job upon arriving in Ontario from Cape Breton. Over the years they had lost contact, until they saw each other when we photographed Carol-Lynn and Kyle's wedding back in 2009. We were happy to see them at the Ottawa Wedding show (a couple times!), and were thrilled when they decided to hire us as their wedding photographers! We had great weather, and it was pretty warm for mid November. Read more

{Stephanie & Frederic} A military wedding in downtown Ottawa

When Ivanette and I met with Stephanie, Freddie and their 3 wonderful children, we had the opportunity to spend some time with them and get to know the story of their 10 years together! After meeting at the Ottawa University frosh week, it was love at first sight. 10 years later, Stephanie and Freddie planned their wedding for the anniversary of their first chance meeting, and wanted to incorporate the University of Ottawa into their wedding. We had previously photographed their engagement session at the University. Since frosh week was on going, the chapel at Tabaret Hall was unavailable, so the University offed a great room overlooking the city at the top of the Desmarais building. The view was great, and the building's name is also their family name. Frederic is an active member of our Canadian Military, and decided to wear his military dress, along with have his grooms men in full dress. Read more

{Kristen & Jason} Get Married at the Mayfair Theater, reception at the Glebe Community Center

Ivanette and I had the pleasure of meeting with Kristen & Jason last September and chatted about their very unique wedding. If you're a regular follower of the blog, you'll know that we like to keep things interesting by photographing unique, yet personalized weddings. It's not always about who can get the most lavish venue, the most expensive shoes, or a couture gown. The best weddings are full of emotion, fun, and personal touches. Kristen and Jason decided early on to go for a Carnival theme for their wedding. The ceremony was held at the historic Mayfair Theater in the Glebe, with a reception at the Glebe Community Center. For their formal photos we decided that one of Ottawa's legal graffiti walls would fit perfectly. Read more

{Fanny & Steve} A personalized wedding at Lago (Ottawa)

It's been almost a year since we met Fanny and Steve at our studio, and chatted about their wedding. It seemed like forever until their wedding date arrived this past Saturday. Even though the weather network was threatening thunderstorms right after their ceremony, it turned out to be a great day! We had a blast photographing their wedding at Lago Bar Grill View. {Jennifer & Jeremy} A unique family wedding near Gatineau Park

Jennifer & Jeremy had one of the most unique weddings we have ever photographed. When we met with them a little over 3 weeks ago, all they wanted was candid photos, nothing posed, no family shots, just pure candid photography. At first we were a little surprised, but then we found out the unique details, such as having their long time family friend perform the ceremony. The biggest surprise was that they were going to hold their 80 guest wedding at their house, complete with contra dancing, a form of square dancing, for their reception. This wedding was about the celebration of family, and having a good time, without having to worry about all of the little details! Read more

This past weekend, we got together with Lama and Faisal in Montreal for their engagement photos, and we are in love with the images we were able to create! I hope you enjoy the images of this wonderful couple as much as we enjoyed making them. Read more
