{Jennifer & Jason} A unique wedding

Ivanette and I had met Jason a few years back at a local meetup, organized through the photo sharing website flickr. Jason, and his then girlfriend Jen were just super cool people and we passed war stories and tips back and forth over a few beers. They both had great ideas and really like to relax! When I heard through twitter that Jason had popped the question to Jennifer, I was anxious to find out who they would choose as their wedding photographer. Jason being a semi-pro photographer, and having photographed weddings himself, I knew he would be picky! Well, luckily one day last year, I received an e-mail from Jason asking if I still had June 25th open. Read more

{Jennifer & Jeremy} A unique family wedding near Gatineau Park

Jennifer & Jeremy had one of the most unique weddings we have ever photographed. When we met with them a little over 3 weeks ago, all they wanted was candid photos, nothing posed, no family shots, just pure candid photography. At first we were a little surprised, but then we found out the unique details, such as having their long time family friend perform the ceremony. The biggest surprise was that they were going to hold their 80 guest wedding at their house, complete with contra dancing, a form of square dancing, for their reception. This wedding was about the celebration of family, and having a good time, without having to worry about all of the little details! Read more

{Nick & Jingjing} Engagement session in Pembroke

I've been looking forward to Nick & Jingjing's engagement session since they mentioned bringing their fencing equipment! Jinjing suggested the marina in Pembroke, which had the old abandoned rail bridge nearby. The group of teenagers fishing off of the bridge was a little surprised when we came up with fencing gear, but they didn't seem to mind! Read more

{Henna Maternity} A glowing Mother to be

This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Sajida's maternity session in Kingston. They had the lovely henna artist, Shafeena, produce stunning artwork on her. It was easy to tell that Sajida and her husband Zumil are very proud parents and excited about the arrival of their first child! Read more

{Alaina & Jim} Engagement photos at Willowstone

When Alaina and Jim first met with us, they were considering Willowstone for their wedding, however after reviewing the size of their guest list, their wedding will now be at Strathmere. Alaina really loved how gorgeous Willowstone is, so we suggested it for their engagement photos. Victoria was absolutely gracious and very welcoming! I can only imagine how amazing a nice, small, intimate wedding would be at Willowstone! Read more

{Kelly & Derek} A wedding engagement session at Ottawa’s Hogs Back Falls

Kelly and Derek had met and booked us almost a year ago, so it was really nice to get to see them again and spend a nice Sunday afternoon strolling around Hogs Back falls for a couple hours. They are such a genuinely romantic couple, and we are looking forward to their wedding this July! Read more

{Janis & John} Film Photography at Strathmere

As you may have read in our previous post, I used John's vintage film camera and lens to capture part of their wedding. There is just something different about capturing images on Black & White film. I used Ilford Delta iso 100 and iso 400 film for these images: Read more

{Janis & John} A gorgeous Strathmere Garden Wedding

Janis & John had a gorgeous day for their wedding last Saturday at Strathmere. The sun even came out for brief moments! The weather was great, with lots of great family and friends in attendance. Janis and John did a great job of putting together their elegant and personalized wedding. Of course, everything went as smooth as possible, thanks to Erika, one of Strathmere's coordinators.
