{Roberta & Jeff} A sunny May wedding at Orchardview

What can I say, Roberta & Jeff are one of the most relaxed couples we've ever met! Their day flowed smoothly, and there wasn't even a hint of stress for either of them! Perhaps that's because Elise of Toast Special Events was handling everything for them! Their ceremony was perfect, and we had a great time wandering the grounds of Orchardview for some amazing portraits, some of which may include horses! Enjoy the preview! Read more

{Melanie & Adam} An engagement session where everything started!

We first had the chance to meet with Melanie & Adam at the studio in January, and are very excited to photograph their wedding! Look out for dirt bikes! While getting to know them, we learnt that they first met when Melanie worked delivering parts to local garages, and met this young, friendly mechanic named Adam. Eventually she started working at the garage, and well, the rest is history! What a more fitting place for their engagement session than the family garage where they met! Read more

{Melissa & Garth} An “end of the world” wedding at Montebello!

As I'm sure you all know, Dec 21st 2012 was supposed to be the end of the world as some people interpreted the Mayan Calendar. Well, it was quite a fitting day to celebrate Melissa & Garth's love for each other. Twenty three years ago, the two were high school sweethearts, so on the end of the world, or as it was more commonly referred to at their wedding, the beginning of a new age, Melissa & Garth were married in a wonderful ceremony at Chateau Montebello. Melissa filled the wedding full of unique touches, such as a circular aisle, so that they could walk past each and every guest, the custom hand made glass ornaments that formed a centrepiece, and then became favours for the guests. There was no seating plan, because as Melissa and Garth stated, "We are all family, so there's no seating plan". Guests were able to sit where they wished, mingle with who they wanted, and meet new friends at their leisure. The atmosphere was relaxed, well, until the dancing started! Read more

{Josée & David } A winter wedding at Cumberland Heritage Museum

A few weeks back on a snowy November day, I had the pleasure of photographing Josée and David's gorgeous and intimate wedding at the Cumberland Heritage Museum. This was the first time I had the opportunity to meet them, as we had taken care of the details by phone and e-mail leading up to their special day. They are wonderful, caring, and just so relaxed! Their personalities showed in the details of their day, they had a grand total of 11 guests, and were very relaxed about their whole day! Enjoy the preview! Read more

{Heather & Marc} Museum of Nature, Ottawa

What a wedding! I've known Heather since high school, and have always kept in touch. When I got the note on Facebook that Marc had proposed and that Heather was asking us if we'd be their photographers, we were very excited! Heather planned an amazing, elegant, and sophisticated wedding at the Museum of Nature in Ottawa. Heather and Marc wanted their friends and family to enjoy the experience first hand, not from behind their camera. Their unplugged wedding was full of emotion, and personal touches. Ivanette and I had great opportunities to capture all of it. Marc's sister sang an amazing rendition of Ave Maria that captivated all of the guests! Read more

{Rachel & Chris} A rainy day wedding

Some of our past clients might recognize Rachel, as she was my assistant last year while Ivanette was home with baby Tavis! Shortly after she started working with us, Chris proposed, so it was an honour when she asked us to photograph her wedding. The week leading up to the wedding, Rachel had her eye on the forecast, and I was hoping it would change. Well, the forecast did change, only the accumulation kept getting higher and higher. Well, it was a torrential downpour for most of the day! We completed their first look inside one of the barns at Stonefields, Ivanette was drenched from head to toe getting the barn set up and ready for the first look, and I can't thank her enough for all she did! Rachel made the last minute decision to have her wedding outside in the drizzle, and with the help of Allan the ceremony was picture perfect! I also wanted to thank Steve and Stephanie of Stonefields who stepped in and made Rachel & Chris' wedding amazing after their original venue double booked their date. Read more

{Pamela & Sherman} A family wedding

Ivanette met Pamela and Sherman at the Ottawa wedding show this January. As luck would have it, as they were passing by, an image from Stephanie & Frederic's wedding we photographed last fall popped onto the screen. Turns out they were also planning their wedding at the NDHQ WO’S & Sgts’ Mess Hall here in Ottawa. It's an absolutely gorgeous hall, and the food is to die for! After chatting with with Ivanette, and going through some of our work, they decided that having a professional photographer might be something they wanted after all. We met with them a few weeks later, and have been looking forward to their wedding! They are full of emotion and are absolutely hilarious! As favours, Pamela & Sherman personally handed out support our troops pins to each guest. Their focus was on family, so we set up a photobooth and Ivanette took gorgeous portraits of all their guests while I was outside capturing their formal photos. It was a great day! Read more
