{Ashley & Richard} A great day for a wedding in Manotick

A few years back, we had the pleasure of meeting Ashley and Richard at another wedding we photographed, as Ashley was a bridesmaid...that was a great event in our books, and we were so happy when she contacted us to begin chatting about her upcoming wedding to Richard late last year.  When we then met up with her at a local wedding show, it felt like we were already old friends and I was taken by her Tory Burch bag (Brian, as is usual, didn't notice such a detail!).  She explained to us both that she loves good quality, and this led to a great discussion regarding her choices for wedding vendors and details. {Melanie & Adam} A daring wedding in Smiths Falls

Ivanette and I have been looking forward to Melanie & Adam’s wedding for quite some time now! We love weddings, and really love it when couples are creative, and completely up for something different. Growing up Adam raced motorcross bikes, and in the back of his parent’s property, they set up a dirt track. One thing led to another, and the idea formed that it would be an awesome image if Adam jumped overtop of Melanie on their wedding day. A couple weeks before their wedding we went and did some planning to make sure it would work. The day finally came, and all went well. Adam even launched himself over the whole wedding party! {Kristin & Clyde} The Grey Gables Manor & Germania Club, Pembroke

Kristin and Clyde held Pembroke's wedding of the year last weekend, and it was a treat to be involved and capture the memories of two wonderful families joining together.  As you may remember, we shot their engagement session a while back in some of the coolest spots,  all with significant sentimental value to them for the family history. {Debra & Rob} Engagement session at Calabogie Motorsports Park

Back when we first did the consult for Debra and Rob, Brian and I were thrilled to find out that they both were avid sportbike riders who wanted to incorporate their hobby into their wedding photography.  In fact, I remember walking up to their house that night and excitedly pointing out the bike trailer to Brian!  As you know, we love working out of the box, and these guys are a perfect fit. {Lama & Faisal} Montreal evening engagement

This past weekend, we got together with Lama and Faisal in Montreal for their engagement photos, and we are in love with the images we were able to create! Their goal was to have a boutique style photos taken, and both the hotel and the stunning Sherbrooke neighborhood served as amazing backdrops for their gorgeous session. I hope you enjoy the images of this wonderful couple as much as we enjoyed making them. Read more

{Jean & Roland} Mackenzie King Estate Engagement Photos

We were really excited when Jean and Roland told us they wanted to do their engagement session at the MacKenzie King Estate because that is where we had our own done last summer.  We haven't been back in the past year, so we were looking forward to revisiting some great memories and making some new ones.  The grounds of the estate have breathtaking gardens, and Mr. King obviously had a quirky sense of design, as there are some pretty cool building remnants to delight any photographer... {Val & Marc} Ottawa Wedding Photographer at the Renfrew Golf Club

We first met Val & Marc at the spring Wedding Show. Ivanette had a great long chat with them about their wedding plans for October 2010, and how they were looking for a photographer who thought outside the box. Yes, originally this happy couple was going to take their time to plan their wedding.  However, about a month later they contacted us, stating that Marc was to be deployed with the military and they had to move their wedding up to this year. After many frantic phone calls, we finally found a date that worked for their venue, the Renfrew Golf Club, as well as ourselves.  Val & Marc had a wonderful (but chilly) ceremony and reception that highlighted their personalities and the love they have for each other. {Jamie & Matt} Ottawa Wedding Photographer at The Carleton Heritage Inn

Well, what a party! We had the honour of being Jamie & Matt's official wedding photographers this past weekend in Carleton Place. Jamie has been Ivanette's esthetician since we moved to Almonte and has become a great friend since. Matt and Jamie have been together for seven years, so when he proposed to Jamie last October she called us to make sure we were available for her wedding. Matt is a volunteer fireman with Carleton Place, and well, us firefighters can sure throw a party! I'm sure the good folks over at the Carleton Heritage Inn are going to need a break after two firefighter weddings in a row! Read more

{Jessica} Ottawa Wedding Photographer – Trash the Dress!

So every once in a while as a photographer, I just have to get out there and shoot for fun, stress free. One day last winter I came home to find three wedding dresses hanging in my kitchen, yes three! Just as I was wondering what was going on Ivanette walked around the corner and said "Look what I found on sale!". Yes, the famous words women use to justify everything. Turns out "on sale" was actually because the boutique was liquidating the previous season's samples, and she really did hit on a huge bargain! Read more
