Uyen & Eli had a wonderful ceremony in Uyen's home town but not all of Eli's family could make the overseas trip, so why not get married again? Uyen and Eli had a wonderful wedding at the Museum of Canadian History, and it was a wonderful celebration of their love! Uyen's family was ecstatic to have their wedding family photos with Canada's Parliament buildings int he background. Read more

{Ashley & Richard} A great day for a wedding in Manotick

A few years back, we had the pleasure of meeting Ashley and Richard at another wedding we photographed, as Ashley was a bridesmaid...that was a great event in our books, and we were so happy when she contacted us to begin chatting about her upcoming wedding to Richard late last year.  When we then met up with her at a local wedding show, it felt like we were already old friends and I was taken by her Tory Burch bag (Brian, as is usual, didn't notice such a detail!).  She explained to us both that she loves good quality, and this led to a great discussion regarding her choices for wedding vendors and details. {Krista & Rob} An engagement session at the cottage retreat

In this business, we've been incredibly lucky to meet some of the most amazing couples--each is unique in their own right and make our role as photographers easier by bringing their own brand of awesome to the table.  Krista and Rob are no exception;  they are an absolute delight to spend time with, and that in turn helps to create some pretty images.'] Read more

{Jessica & Kirk} A sunny wedding at Temple’s Sugar Bush

Jessica & Kirk met with us this spring, thanks to an introduction from their good friend & wedding planner Lianna. They were planning an elegant and simple wedding at Temple's Sugar Bush and wanted great photography to complement the beautiful day they had planned. We showed Jessica the gorgeous Clyde Hall in Lanark, which was where she decided to get ready for the big day. Their wedding was elegant, laid back and full of gorgeous details, which were hand made by their families.  The best part of the day for us was being able to capture their heartfelt emotion, and we have no doubt the love these two so obviously share will last a lifetime!  Congratulations and best wishes--enjoy the imagery! {Victoria & Tyler} A gorgeous waterfront wedding in Kingston, Ontario

As photographers, we love having different opportunities and challenges. Victoria & Tyler were married in the gorgeous Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, overlooking Kingston's waterfront. Historically we've had great opportunities capturing weddings and engagement sessions in Downtown Kingston, the Olympic Harbour is east of Kingston, past Queens University. Ivy and I took the opportunity to scout locations, and just a short 5 minute drive from the harbour, we found a great abandoned building to serve as the backdrop for their wedding portraits, along with the waterfront trail nearby! Victoria & Tyler are also very adventurous, and were up for creating these images that we absolutely love! Read more

{Chelsea & Scott} A Celtic wedding at Tudor Hall

I first met Chelsea and her amazing family at her brother's wedding back in the fall of 2009. Ivy didn't have the chance to join me as she was in Vancouver preparing to work at the Olympics the following year. I can tell you however that she was jealous of not being able to photograph all of the amazing details! When Chelsea messaged me on facebook to let us know that Scott had proposed, and she wanted us to photograph their wedding, we were both excited! Turns out Scott's family is just as nice and caring! From the details that Chelsea chose, the Champagne Highland Dancers acting as ushers, and then having three performances during the reception, and the absolute abundance of emotion throughout the day. The most memorable moment to me was Chelsea's reaction as Scott stepped out to reveal he was wearing a kilt. Chelsea's Scottish roots are important to herself and her family. Scott's effort into bringing in a kilt bearing her family's Tartan was a sign of just how much he loves Chelsea! Read more

{Su & Leo} Intimate wedding at Code’s Mill in Perth

{Kristin & Clyde} The Grey Gables Manor & Germania Club, Pembroke

Kristin and Clyde held Pembroke's wedding of the year last weekend, and it was a treat to be involved and capture the memories of two wonderful families joining together.  As you may remember, we shot their engagement session a while back in some of the coolest spots,  all with significant sentimental value to them for the family history. {Heather & Tom} The Engagement

We first had the opportunity to meet Heather a few months ago at a Starbucks in Ottawa for an initial consultation.  She had had a long day interviewing vendors for their wedding, but despite us being the one of the last meetings of the day, that "connection" we all hope for with clients was evident from the get-go.  She told us about her chance first meeting with her fiance Tom, and even while regaling us with the hilarious details, her genuine love and adoration for him shone through. {Jamie & Matt} Ottawa Wedding Photographer at The Carleton Heritage Inn

Well, what a party! We had the honour of being Jamie & Matt's official wedding photographers this past weekend in Carleton Place. Jamie has been Ivanette's esthetician since we moved to Almonte and has become a great friend since. Matt and Jamie have been together for seven years, so when he proposed to Jamie last October she called us to make sure we were available for her wedding. Matt is a volunteer fireman with Carleton Place, and well, us firefighters can sure throw a party! I'm sure the good folks over at the Carleton Heritage Inn are going to need a break after two firefighter weddings in a row! Read more

{Jessica} Ottawa Wedding Photographer – Trash the Dress!

So every once in a while as a photographer, I just have to get out there and shoot for fun, stress free. One day last winter I came home to find three wedding dresses hanging in my kitchen, yes three! Just as I was wondering what was going on Ivanette walked around the corner and said "Look what I found on sale!". Yes, the famous words women use to justify everything. Turns out "on sale" was actually because the boutique was liquidating the previous season's samples, and she really did hit on a huge bargain! Read more
