{Janis & John} True Canadian Engagement

When Frances and Shaun began telling us about their wedding, we had never been to Port Hope.  To get ourselves prepared, we did some research on Penryn Mansion, built in 1859, which sits on the picturesque Port Hope Golf and Country Club, and were instantly excited!  We were even more pleased when we arrived in Port Hope, as everything is so much more beautiful than we had imagined. Tips for Brides – Wedding Registry

During my short lunch break, I stumbled across Wedding Republic and thought it would be cool enough to share with brides looking for something different. When we were getting married we made the choice to have a registry since most of our family is out of town and have never seen our house, or know the style we both share. We didn't want to have multiple registrys so we picked one large, Canada wide chain of stores for our wedding registry. If Wedding Republic had been around, we would have used them! You can add absolutely anything you want, and guests from both sides of your families can split on larger gifts. Read more

So every once in a while as a photographer, I just have to get out there and shoot for fun, stress free. One day last winter I came home to find three wedding dresses hanging in my kitchen, yes three! Just as I was wondering what was going on Ivanette walked around the corner and said "Look what I found on sale!". Yes, the famous words women use to justify everything. Turns out "on sale" was actually because the boutique was liquidating the previous season's samples, and she really did hit on a huge bargain! Read more

{Eden & David} Ottawa Wedding Photographer – Orchardview

This past Sunday, Eden and David tied the knot at Orchardview, located in the south end of Ottawa in the beautiful village of Manotick. They had a gorgeous day for their wedding; the sun even cooperated, which has been rare around here lately!  Their ceremony truly celebrated their love and committment to each other and their darling daughter Emily.  She even had a stunning little red dress to match mommy's!  I actually went to high school with Eden and all of her lovely bridesmaids, and even worked with them on occasion.  After high school, however, with moving, and college, and new careers, we lost contact with each other. That was until Eden stumbled across my ad on Facebook! I am so glad Ivanette and I were able to share in their day and capture the memories of their truly unique ceremony. Read more
