{Christine & Evan} A sexy sunset engagement session

Ivanette and I have known Christine and Evan for a couple years now. Evan used to work with my younger brother, and over the years we've gotten to know Christine and Evan. We were excited for them when Evan finally proposed, and even more excited to be photographing their wedding next year in Carleton Place. We spent a Sunday afternoon at Evan's cottage capturing their engagement session surrounded by the fall leaves. Evan was thrilled when I suggested we incorporate his prized Mustang into their session!   Read more

{Melissa & Keith} An Ottawa Valley wedding in Renfrew

I had the pleasure of photographing Melissa & Keith's wedding this October in Renfrew. It was a little cold (6 degrees) and very windy, but nobody complained, we had sunshine! There's something about small town churches that's just amazing, the light, the intimacy, it's like they have a personality of their own. St. Michael's Catholic church in Douglas is no exception, being just around the corner from Melissa's family farm. Their wedding was such a pleasure to photograph as both families are very relaxed, kind and generous. Read more

{Erin & Chris} A wedding at St. Peter’s in Pakenham

You can't help but notice Erin's outgoing, bubbly personality! Erin and Chris were a pleasure to work with. We had previously had a blast photographing their engagement session, and had been looking forward to their wedding this past Saturday. Erin and Chris chose St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Pakenham, which is one of the 7 wonders of Lanark County. In the morning, we learnt that Erin's Grandfather had a hand in helping build the 5 span bridge in Pakenham (yet another of the 7 wonders of Lanark County), so a quick stop for some photos, then it was off to Burnstown for some photos on the farm. We had a blast at the reception with the smoked beef and chicken. A big thanks to Erin, Chris and both their parents for their wonderful hospitality! Read more

{Christine & Benton} A winter engagement near Barry’s Bay

We first met Christine at Arnprior's first wedding show a few months ago. We immediately seemed to get along very well and after the 3 of us chatted for over half an hour, she went home to discuss things with Benton. A few days later we received a very nice e-mail requesting to meet up. Christine and Benton made the drive to Almonte from Barry's Bay a few days later and we set a date to capture their engagement photos. We had a great time despite the foot of snow that was on the ground at the park near Combermere (just outside of Barry's Bay). As we were wrapping up the session, Benton mentioned that as a child, he had helped his grandfather build a monument a few kilometers away to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the 1944 Warsaw uprising in Poland. It is designed to commemorate a church that was destroyed during the Nazi invasion. We thought it would be a fitting tribute to their culture, family, and heritage, and the perfect way to end their engagement session. Read more

{Val & Marc} Ottawa Wedding Photographer at the Renfrew Golf Club

We first met Val & Marc at the spring Wedding Show. Ivanette had a great long chat with them about their wedding plans for October 2010, and how they were looking for a photographer who thought outside the box. Yes, originally this happy couple was going to take their time to plan their wedding.  However, about a month later they contacted us, stating that Marc was to be deployed with the military and they had to move their wedding up to this year. After many frantic phone calls, we finally found a date that worked for their venue, the Renfrew Golf Club, as well as ourselves.  Val & Marc had a wonderful (but chilly) ceremony and reception that highlighted their personalities and the love they have for each other.
