{Ashley & Richard} A great day for a wedding in Manotick

A few years back, we had the pleasure of meeting Ashley and Richard at another wedding we photographed, as Ashley was a bridesmaid...that was a great event in our books, and we were so happy when she contacted us to begin chatting about her upcoming wedding to Richard late last year.  When we then met up with her at a local wedding show, it felt like we were already old friends and I was taken by her Tory Burch bag (Brian, as is usual, didn't notice such a detail!).  She explained to us both that she loves good quality, and this led to a great discussion regarding her choices for wedding vendors and details. {Kacey & Jordan} A beautiful wedding at Loch March, Ottawa Golf Course

Ivanette and I were thrilled when Susan, Kacey's mom gave us a call to say another one of her daughters was getting married! We photographed Jennifer's wedding back in 2009. Their family is absolutely amazing, and an absolute pleasure to spend a day with on a nice sunny Golf Course in Ottawa's west end! The lucky groom Jordan was absolutely full of energy, and kept the party going at Loch March Golf club all night long! We knew they'd be a fun and interesting couple after capturing their engagement session last summer on Parliament Hill. Parliament in red was fitting, as Jordan had just started working for Mr. Trudeau. They are a passionate, fun couple, and we wish them the best in the many years to come! Read more

{Melanie & Adam} A daring wedding in Smiths Falls

Ivanette and I have been looking forward to Melanie & Adam’s wedding for quite some time now! We love weddings, and really love it when couples are creative, and completely up for something different. Growing up Adam raced motorcross bikes, and in the back of his parent’s property, they set up a dirt track. One thing led to another, and the idea formed that it would be an awesome image if Adam jumped overtop of Melanie on their wedding day. A couple weeks before their wedding we went and did some planning to make sure it would work. The day finally came, and all went well. Adam even launched himself over the whole wedding party! {Kacey & Jordan} An engagement on Parliament Hill Ottawa

It was a bit of a blast from the past when Kacey’s mother Susan e-mailed us to say there was another wedding in the family! Back in 2008 we photographed her sister’s wedding, and we thrilled to hear Kacey’s news, and that we had the opportunity to capture her wedding! Their family was absolutely amazing, and we’re honoured to be part of their lives! Read more

{Pamela & Sherman} A family wedding

Ivanette met Pamela and Sherman at the Ottawa wedding show this January. As luck would have it, as they were passing by, an image from Stephanie & Frederic's wedding we photographed last fall popped onto the screen. Turns out they were also planning their wedding at the NDHQ WO’S & Sgts’ Mess Hall here in Ottawa. It's an absolutely gorgeous hall, and the food is to die for! After chatting with with Ivanette, and going through some of our work, they decided that having a professional photographer might be something they wanted after all. We met with them a few weeks later, and have been looking forward to their wedding! They are full of emotion and are absolutely hilarious! As favours, Pamela & Sherman personally handed out support our troops pins to each guest. Their focus was on family, so we set up a photobooth and Ivanette took gorgeous portraits of all their guests while I was outside capturing their formal photos. It was a great day! Read more

{Chelsea & Scott} A Celtic wedding at Tudor Hall

I first met Chelsea and her amazing family at her brother's wedding back in the fall of 2009. Ivy didn't have the chance to join me as she was in Vancouver preparing to work at the Olympics the following year. I can tell you however that she was jealous of not being able to photograph all of the amazing details! When Chelsea messaged me on facebook to let us know that Scott had proposed, and she wanted us to photograph their wedding, we were both excited! Turns out Scott's family is just as nice and caring! From the details that Chelsea chose, the Champagne Highland Dancers acting as ushers, and then having three performances during the reception, and the absolute abundance of emotion throughout the day. The most memorable moment to me was Chelsea's reaction as Scott stepped out to reveal he was wearing a kilt. Chelsea's Scottish roots are important to herself and her family. Scott's effort into bringing in a kilt bearing her family's Tartan was a sign of just how much he loves Chelsea! Read more
